Arguement Analyses

1.This article is discussing how marijuana should be legalized. If marijuana was legalized we would make more money from taxes and save money by not having to spend so much on law enforcement and putting people in jail. If marijuana were legalized we wouldn't have to spend so much money on taxes to keep people in jail just because they owned marijuana. In the end there are just to many benefits of legalizing marijuana that it would be idiotic not to.

2.The author is telling us that there are a lot of benefits to marijuana and legalization of it as well. It would bring in a lot of money, lower prison taxes, and create new jobs for our economy. His main argument is probably to try and show us how it is foolish that we continue to make marijuana illegal when so many benefits are open to us if we would we just change our mind.

3.One assertion made is that if marijuana were legal California would be able to bring in 1.4 billion for the country. Another assertion is that marijuana is used in medical treatment of people with cancer, aids and other debilitating diseases.

Reefer Madness

This article is explaining how the federal government is allowing the use of medical marijuana in 16 states and is allowing the distribution of it by more than 1,000 stores. The purpose of this article is probably to show how the government is okay with the use of medical marijuana in the U.S. but that there are those that are trying to stop it.
The main argument made by this article is that, yes marijuana is okay but only when used for medical purposes, also if you use marijuana you are not allowed to own a firearm.

Pathos, Ethos, Logos

Pathos- Emotional appeal-When people look at caged animals they can't help but feel sympathetic towards that animal. So when someone uses this image it will play on their emotions which is why this is the image I used for my pathos.Ethos- ethical appeal- When people listen to Obama giving a speech it usually appeals to them because of the fact that he is the president of the United States also he is the first Black American president in our history.He appeals to most peoples ethics because of both his race and his position so this is why I chose him as my Ethos image.


Logos- Logical appeal- When people look at an image of global warming they think it's only logical to try and help with this problem by reducing carbon emissions and trying to cool of the earth. I chose this as my logos image because I know when I look at it I know the reason this happening is because we refuse to listen and turn a blind eye to it. When other people look at it they'll realize that the reason this is happening is because of them and that's exactly what the taker of this picture wants you to fill, to convince you of changing the way you live.
